The PKBSI and Global Species Management Plan (GSMP) team conducted the zoo visits to 12 zoos in Indonesia, on the March 9th - 15th, 2020. This was a follow up visit from the PKBSI-GSMP collaborative conservation program for 4 species (anoa, banteng, babirusa & Sumatran tiger) to achieve a genetically and demographically healthy population. PKBSI had a great opportunity to have an audience with the Chair of People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of Indonesia as well as the Patron of PKBSI, Mr. H. Bambang Soesatyo, SE, MBA, on January 16th 2020 at the Meeting Room of the Chair. PKBSI Chairman, DR. H. PKBSI chairman, DR. H. Rahmat Shah, did a zoo visit to PKBSI member in West Java. Bandung Zoological Garden was the first zoo visited in this activity, on January 12th 2020. Along with PKBSI Secretary General, Tony Sumampau, they observed the development of the zoo. They also gave suggestions and inputs for the improvement of Bandung Zoological Garden. READ MORE
